secret santa

Every Christmas at work, we all contribute to a 'Secret Santa' present, like a lot of other places do, I imagine.  Ours, though has a couple of rules.  You are only allowed to spend up to £5.00., and if possible, you can make the gift, instead of buying it.  I love the idea of making the gift, and also love the idea of receiving a home made present.

This is what I received last year:

A bottle of Damson Gin!  It was yummy.  I can't show you what I made last year, because I didn't take a picture of it, but I can show you what I made this year.

It started life as a rather pretty fork, bought on ebay for a pound ......

then, with a bit of  'tweaking' here and there, it transformed into this:

a hook to hang teatowels on!

Unfotunately, it had a little accident, and lost part of one of its tines, but, well, if my secret santa likes rustic (and I think she does), she will like this, and probably give it a name .......

Can't wait to see if I get Damson Gin again.
