Update

While some of you were having a ball last night, no doubt eating sausages and jacket potatoes and drinking hot chocolate at some fireworks party, I was beavering away at my novel.  As you may be aware, the challenge is to write a novel in thirty days.  It's actually not that difficult, if you have a head brimming full of ideas, but when you have WRITER'S BLOCK, and find yourself staring at a blank page for what seems like hours on end, it's no fireworks party, I can tell you.

BUT, - thank goodness for Twitter.  Those lovely people at NanoWrimo hand out virtual encouragement as if it grew on trees.

They have things called Wordspurts, throwing in ideas for scenes left, right, and centre.  Hundreds of thousands of people all over the world are doing this, it's unbelievable.  You can't help but smile at the sheer ridiculousness of the whole thing.  How, for example, do you get the word 'waffles' into your story?  I managed it.

I'm doing okay.  I think.

But I'm back at work tomorrow, and we have the threat of Ofsted this month.

It'll be fine, it's only a month out of my life .........

See you in December.

  1. Of course you'll be fine - you did well last year. Talking of the 'sheer ridiculousness of the whole thing, I wonder if you can get the word 'Ofsted' in your book. On second thoughts perhaps not! Mind it could introduce the reader to a whole host of different emotions.

  2. I'm really looking forward to this next one.Are you using waffle as a noun or verb? By the way I'm now over on my new blog "Anglespangle". Pop over if you feel like it, when you have the chance.
