Yay! We had a snow day today. There's something exciting about being sent home early, especially on a Friday. It's like a little prize, or something.
At least I don't have far to travel to work, so there was no chance of getting stuck in the snow. If you look carefully in the picture (of a snowy Christmas Tree outside my living room window, which I'm glad I didn't put in the brown bin last week, because it looks so pretty), you will actually see my place of work in the background.
I don't vault the fence to get there, however, it's at least a four minute walk the long way round. Even so, I volunteered to stay behind with the student who was waiting for his brother to pick him up, and was one of the last ones to leave. Still, I was home by 12.
A great start to the weekend.
Goodness, with all that snow, it must have taken you what...six or seven minutes to get home. I hope you had your emergency rations with you in case you got stuck; blanket, chocolate, flask of hot drink (make mine a mulled wine!).
ReplyDeleteOh, wait a minute, that's me at home most nights!!
I love an early dismissal almost more than a snow day - the allure of walking into the house mid-day, knowing the afternoon stretches ahead with no responsibilities...and then taking a nap while it snows!
