Pottering

I love being at work.  But I love holidays more.  I love 'pottering'.  As someone very dear to me once said 'why don't they make pottering an Olympic sport?'  (Azza)  Well, if they did - I would do very well at it, thank-you-very-much.

This holiday, my pottering has included lots of this:

Book 1 in The Narnia Series

Still book 1
(still book one, but I needed some exercise so I walked from the bedroom to the garden)

Book 5 (of 7)

I'd better get a move on - I've got two more books to go, and so little time left.

The book may not be in shot (book 6, The Silver Chair), but believe me - it's there somewhere (get the clue?).  I'm going to have to keep on reading in the dead of night.....

However, there were other things to do which constitute pottering.  Some of this, for example:

which I found I could actually do at the same time as this:

... and, of course, there's this:

... there was even a little bit of this:

... well, quite a lot actually, as my garden was crying out for a good lopping.

Of course, there was a teensy weensy bit of this:

... but probably too much of this:

I'll have to cut down on the milk, I think.

There was also some of this:

August sewing project
And now, the holidays are nearly over, and I'll have to postpone my pottering.  How am I going to cope, and keep in training for the Olympics?

Roll on the next holidays.....

P.S.   What I did not do very much of, was this:

  1. As with most Olympic athletes, you will have to spend most of your evenings and weekends on your pottering training. At least three hours per evening and eight hours per day at the weekends. I know it sounds a lot but, if you're committed to the sport, then you'll just have to knuckle down to it. You might even find time to have a tiny potter if you got up half an hour earlier.
But keep at it because I reckon that We have a really good chance of picking up the Gold and possibly the Silver too!

    Yours sincerely,

  2. Well done I think you are well on the way to the gold medal remember to thank your trainer (me) in your speech. I think I am coming in for bronze this year as I have been doing something you haven't, I refer to your last pic. That being said I have also done a lot of crafting one way or another in fact you could just call me crafty.

  3. Wow, this pottering's far too energetic for me. I think I'd better take it just one step at a time. I'll start my training with the wine tonight!
