update

Remember the saga of the digital TV that won't receive digital channels?  (I would just like to point out that I am not a TV addict, despite the evidence to the contrary).  (I'm still only really watching four channels, as most of the other ones have been a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT).

In my next career, I would like to own a TV channel, and make the rules.  They would be something like this:

Rule number 1 - just TELL THE STORY, without resorting to 'later in the programme you can find out what happened when this little piggy went to market, but meanwhile, .......'

Rule number 2 - NEVER HAVE A CELEBRITY (?) on your programme.  (Who cares about some mediocre-talented half-dressed  person anyway?)

Rule number 3 - ABOLISH ADVERTS - (well, I know this isn't possible, but do they have to appear so often, and do they have to have bad voice/picture synchronisation?)

Rule number 4 - KEEP SPORT TO DESIGNATED CHANNELS (isn't that what Sky is for?)

Rule number 5 - NO WORLD WAR TWO FILMS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS (who thought of that one? Was it a woman?  I don't think so.)

Rule number 6 - DO NOT ALLOW GRUMPY OLD WOMEN/MEN to air their views.  (whoops, just shot myself in the foot on that one)

I'm working on other rules.

Meanwhile, on to the saga of the not so digital TV.  I've bought a set top box:

The more observant of you might notice that I am actually a bit of a floozy with my technology - just thought I'd point out the Sony-Wharfedale-Humax-Hitachi combo.

Can you beat that?  Anybody?
