I did it!

Me, a puny little thing of advancing-middle-age managed it.  Okay, I was last, but I only have little legs, and it takes far more effort if you are limbly challenged, so, really, it was a double victory.

  I'm talking about this ...

which is, well quite high -

(Length: 19.50km (12.25 miles) | Ascent: 1214m (3984ft) | Allow at least: 8.50hrs | Grade: Walks Routes Maps Grades Explanation and Help )

and much longer than 12.25 miles, I can tell you, by the time you've climbed that 3,984ft (three thousand nine hundred and eighty four feet).  We started off by the lakeside that you can see if you put your glasses on in the distance, and ended up watching the birds below us.

It was fantastic, and I don't care that I was way behind the front of the group, because they were so keen-to-prove-a-point, that they didn't get to take lovely pictures like these ones, taken with my 3.2 megapixel camera.  I am able to climb mountains and take pictures, don't you know, and the next thing on the agenda really should be to get a decent camera, but at least I got pictures....

and my own personal favourite

I think I should make myself a certificate.....

  1. Nothing wrong with those pictures, they're lovely!

And really, do I need to tell everyone you were certified years ago? The certificate is still in your hospital records!
