New York 7

I love this picture - it has everything in it that is synonymous with everyday New York.  A yellow taxi, a school bus, a tall building (not exactly a skyscraper, but tall if you are from the sticks in England), and lastly, an orange and white steam tube.  Apparently, the city is practically run by steam, and these tubes appear when the company are doing some sort of works, or running repairs or something.  They are usually orange and white, the colours of the company, Con Edison.  Silly, I know, but I'm glad I got one on camera.
Con Edison Steam Vent - there's an intersting article here all about steam power in Manhattan, for those who care to know
